Sedgeley and Gornall Open Show 2015

29 November 2015
Papillon Judge: Petula Field

My thanks to the Officers and Committee for inviting me to judge, to my stewards and to the exhibitors for allowing me to judge their dogs. Both breeds exhibited quality in depth.

Best of Breed: Mrs K Maskell – Kazkell Thyme To Dream JW ShCM
Res. Best of Breed & Best Puppy: Mrs K Maskell – Kazkell Robin The Limelight

Junior 6:2
1st Mrs K Maskell & Miss M C Waller – Kazkell What Dreams R’ Made Of At Lilnrose. 7 month tri colour dog with an alert, exquisite expression. Correct head and skull, good pigmentation. Well placed ears which were used well. Good forequarters, level topline. Dainty, well balanced with light, free-flowing, positive gait. If anything over-exaggerated his front movement. Just needs to develop coat and fringing.
2nd Miss M C Waller – Kazkell Theme For A Dream For Lilnrose. Litter sister to 1st and many of the same attributes. Feminine bitch who was very alert and attentive to her handler. Pushed hard for 1st but just lacked the showmanship of her brother.
3rd Mrs K Maskell – Kazkell Just In My Dreams

Post Grad 3:0
1st Mrs K Maskell – Kazkell Robin The Limelight RBOB/BPIB. 8 month red and white dog in excellent coat and condition. Very outgoing and loves showing. Correct head and skull with good ear set. Slightly longer than high and well furnished for age. Moved with a light, flee-flowing and positive gait without over-exaggeration.
2nd Mrs K Maskell – Kazkell Just In My Dreams. Litter brother to 1st but slightly smaller. In excellent coat and condition. Dainty and well balanced but reluctant to show a light, free-flowing, positive gait. Certainly lived up to being a butterfly but could achieve more once settled.
3rd Miss M C Waller – Melangel Vanity Fair At Lilnrose

Open 3:1
1st Mrs K Maskell – Kazkell Thyme To Dream JW ShCM BOB. 5 year old black and white dog, every inch the professional showman. Fully furnished shown in excellent coat and condition. He floated round the ring in such an effortless manner. Correct head and skull, large mobile ears which are well set. Shoulders well developed and sloping. Maintained level topline stood and on the move. Great hindquarters.
2nd Miss M C Waller – Kazkell Midnight Dream At Lilnrose. 2 year old tri colour bitch. Dainty and well balanced. Correct head and skull, ears reasonably set and well fringed. Looked a little unsure, whether this is temperament or lack of a blazer which is altering her expression. Moved freely and positively.
