Papillon Dogs in the UK
If you wish to enquire about a Papillon puppy from us, please be sure to fully read our Puppies page. Latest NewsLooking for a Papillon? We currently have a 4 year old dog who is looking for good, loving, PET home. He is a lively, friendly little chap who just loves to be the centre of attention. Please contact us for further details. 22nd February 2009
Charlie has just turned one year old and is now for sale. He is a lovely boy who really enjoys playing and having lots of cuddles. Because he is rather "romantic", Charlie would be best in a home where there are no intact bitches and where there is somebody at home most of the time.
UPDATE: Charlie has now settled into his new home. 26th January 2009 A friend has just given me details of a missing dog in Essex, Jacob, breed is Bracco Italianno. Apparently he ran off chasing a deer whilst walking, and has not been seen since. For full details click here. 6th January 2009 Having just returned from holiday I have just had a very sad phone call from my good friend, Janet Tweedy. Janet informed me that her husband, Tom, passed away on Christmas Day. 20th July 2008 Had an enjoyable day out at Milton Keynes and District Open Show. Judging Papillons was Mrs J De Layen-Chance, who awarded Larry 1st in Puppy and Best Puppy in Breed. 10th May 2008 WELL DONE to MICHELLE FISHER and BABREES MARGARITA (Tipsy)! At Chelmsford & District Open Show Tipsy was awarded 1st Graduate, Best of Breed and TOY GROUP 3! Breed Judge was Kay Tidmarsh (Creliatown Papillons); Toy Group Judge was Mrs H Ridwell. At Birmingham National Championship Show, Tipsy won 1st Post Graduate Bitch in a class of 15! Judge was Mrs Liz Cartledge. So sorry I was not at these shows to watch! 20th April 2008 The Papillon (Butterfly Dog) Club held their Championship Show on 13th April. They had an excellent entry with 328 Papillons entered. At the last minute there was a change of judge for the dogs, as Mark Billinghurst (Nouveau) was not well enough to carry out his appointment. We wish him a speedy recovery. Brenda Taylor was good enough to step into the judge's seat. Rocky was entered into Yearling Dog, and I am please to say that he was awarded 1st place! I have added another photo of Rocky, taken when he won his class. I was also very pleased for Michelle, who owns Tipsy (Babrees Margarita), when she was placed 3rd in a very large (27 bitches) and strong Post Graduate class by the judge, Mrs Evelyn Needham (Marshlea). Tipsy then went on to win Best Special Beginner in Show! Way to go Tipsy! Click here for her photo. Michelle hopes to mate Tipsy on her next season, and we hope for some very nice puppies indeed. If you are interested let us know. We've now given Larry his own page - photos are coming soon! 8th April 2008 I took little Larry to ringcraft for the first time today. All I can say is "WOW"! Considering that this was his very first venture into the big wide world, and had never been on a lead before, he was absolutely fantastic! Such an outgoing, fearless little fella. In the match at the end he won BEST PUPPY! I think he is definitely following in daddy's footsteps! 7th March 2008 Papillon breed classes were held on the first day of Crufts Championship Show, 6th March, 2008. Judge for the day was Mr Gordon Urquhart, of the Blackpark Papillons. This was probably the last time I shall show at Crufts, so I was very pleased when Rocky (Babrees Rocket Man), who was just 3 days out of Junior, was placed 2nd in a strong Special Yearling class. 9th February 2008 Isle of Ely Canine Society held their open show at Spalding. Rocky (Babrees Rocket Man) won 1st Post Graduate and Best of Breed.
7th November 2007 I don't go to many shows, but do like to attend the Papillon (Butterfly Dog) Club's breed shows. They held their open show on 18th November, and the judge for the day was Mr Tony Allcock MBE. I have not met Mr Allcock before, but found him a very good judge and excellent with the dogs. Rocky (Babrees Rocket Man) was awarded 2nd in Junior Dog. Lisa (Babrees Mona Lisa) was also awarded 2nd in Junior Bitch. Miss Vikki Loader was the judge for the Welfare and Benevolent Fund classes. Rocky was awarded 1st Open Dog, while his grandsire, Inixia Perfect Host For Shirando JW was awarded 2nd! My thanks go to Michelle - I was late arriving and judging had already started, so Michelle kindly sorted me out and helped to get Rocky ready for his class! Apologies to the people who wished to meet me. Shows are always a busy time (and I am never organised!), particularly the club show as I was acting as official photographer. So I hope you don't think me too rude when I had to dash off quickly and didn't get a chance to finish our conversation! 18th October 2007 We always reply to correspondence we receive, but if your email address is incorrect, or even missing, when you fill in our contact form, our reply will not be able to get to you! 15th October 2007 We have a papillon puppy, born 16th July 2007, available to a good home. [update: she has now gone to her new home] 27th August 2007 Suffolk show was held today, and the judge for Papillons was Mr K Vorderstrass, who had an excellent entry. We had a really good day - this is what showing dogs is all about - great weather and good company! The icing on the cake was that Rocky (Babrees Rocket Man) was awarded 1st Junior and Best Puppy. The judge told us afterwards that he was very tempted to give Rocky Best of Breed, but when we were all moving round he turned to looked at Rocky, who at that moment decided to put his head down to sniff and stopped moving correctly! Rocky went on to win Puppy Group 4 in a large and strong puppy group, judge was Mr Mark Sedgewick (Pascavale). 30th July 2007 Yesterday I took Rocky (Babrees Rocket Man) to Milton Keynes & District Open Show. Because of the weather the venue had been changed, and I have to congratulate the officers and committee for coping with this. Parking was tight, but they managed to fit us all in with no problems. A most enjoyable show with a good atmosphere. Ann Stevens (Tawzan) was the Papillon Judge, and she drew a good entry. Rocky was awarded 1st Puppy and Best Puppy. He then went on to be awarded Puppy Group 3 under Mr Paul Donnelly, despite trying to examine every stain on the cream carpet while walking by leaping onto it! 17th July 2007 Only just made it to the East of England Show held at Peterborough today. Queenie decided to have her puppies last night, and we now have two lovely, healthy Papillon puppy bitches! The first stage of her labour was very long - we did not get much sleep Monday night and crawled into bed at 1:00am this morning after she had finished whelping and we knew everything was okay. I thought I wouldn't go to the show, even though it is our only local championship show, but when I awoke at my normal time of 4.00am, I decided to get up and bath Rocky and Lisa for the show, leaving Queenie and puppies in Ian's capable hands. Mrs Irene McManus was judging Papillons. She awarded Rocky (Babrees Rocket Man) 2nd Puppy Dog 8th July 2007 Peterborough and District Canine Society held their open dog show at Sacrewell Farm, Peterborough today. I have always enjoyed this dog show. The weather was very kind and the sun shone down on us all. The Papillon judge for today was Mrs Margaret M Watson (Ramlacim), and she awarded Rocky (Babrees Rocket Man) Best Puppy. Margaret Grosvenor (Alvenor) was judging the Toy Group, and awarded Rocky Puppy Group 2 - way to go Rocky! The Papillons certainly had a good day today - Karen Maskell's Kazkell Dillons Dream won BOB and Group 1, while Samantha Crawford, handling Kazkell Daydreamer, won the Junior Handling , 6-11 years. Well done all! 1st July 2007 I braved going to Windsor Championship Show today. "Braved" because reports from previous days described the situation as being like Glastonbury! We were the last day and there had been a lot of rain, making the walkways thick slimy mud. I hadn't been to Windsor dog show for a few years, and was so pleased with their new set up - they had the rings all under open marquees, which meant they had kept dry and were not at all muddy, and when it rained we didn't all have to rush for cover! The whole show was much better. Definitely a welly and waxy day! Carolyn Roe (Sunshoo) was judged Papillons today, and she awarded Rocky (Babrees Rocket Man) 2nd Puppy Dog. 28th June 2007 Took Rocky and Lisa to the Norfolk and Norwich Canine Society today. The Judge, Mrs R MacRae from Aberdeen, awarded Rocky (Babrees Rocket Man) 1st Puppy and Best Puppy. Rocky then went on to gain Puppy Group 3 under Mrs I McManus (Metexa). BOB went to Rocky's grandsire, Inixia Perfect Host for Shirando who went on to win Group 2. 17th June 2007 Newmarket & District Canine Society held their open show yesterday. This is always a lovely dog show and yesterday was no exception and I thoroughly enjoyed our day out. The judge for Papillons, Mr Roger Stone, had a very good entry with many nice Papillons present. Rocky (Babrees Rocket Man) won 1st Puppy. Lisa (Babrees Mona Lisa) came 2nd Special Yearling and then went on to challenge Rocky for the Best Puppy. Mr Stone selected Rocky to be Best Puppy, and made the lovely comment that Lisa would be extremely nice when she matures. BOB went to Rocky's grandsire, Inixia Perfect Host for Shirando. 18th February 2007 The Papillon (Butterfly Dog) Club held their open show. Judge was breed specialist Mrs Debbie Gornall (Tinklebury). Lisa (Babrees Mona Lisa) was entered into Minor Puppy Bitch. We were thrilled when Lisa won Minor Puppy Bitch, Best Bitch Puppy and BEST PUPPY IN SHOW! Thank you Mrs Gornall for thinking so highly of our little Papillon. |
