15 July 2016 – Our Dogs

East of England Championship show suffered from some very unsettled weather this year. Getting into the show was a very slow affair for some exhibitors. Our breed was in the main hall next to the Best In Show ring. We had all the facilities close by and with some lovely stalls to look at without going outside.

Once again the Papillon fraternity were in full swing with the celebrations. Brian & Carol Lees were busy handing out champagne and Strawberries celebrating thier new Champion Lafford Kandy Floss. Joe Magri and Kevin Arrowsmith held a Cake and Champagne party after judging to celebrate Ch Rozamie Dream Lovers Best In Show at Blackpool. The cake was decorated with butterflies and a super photo of ‘Jacob’ sitting in the Best In Show cup adorned the centre.

Our breed specialist judge Liz Anderson took centre ring and worked through a large entry of Paps. She found her Best Of Breed in Petitchien Truth or Dare Rozamie owned by myself, Joe and Kevin. Max has only been to a couple of shows, taking a RDCC and now the DCC and Best of Breed. It sure was a day to remember for we did the double with Ch Omegaville Make Me A Petitchien gaining her 9th CC in bitches and Best Opposite Sex. Tom Isherwood piloted his and Jenny Scovell puppy Afterglow Sunny Spell bred by Mike Gadsby to Best Puppy in Breed.

On a sad note Sandra Austin has lost her veteran champion so the day was a little sad for her I am sure, especially as she won the Veteran class with another of her oldies. We all know the pain of losing one of our beloved dogs, so our thoughts are with her. Here are the full results DCC & BOB Petitchiens Truth Or Dare Rozamie owned by Magri Arrowsmith & Forth. RDCC Afterglow Tom Fool at Caswell owned by Jenny Scovell. BCC Ch Omegaville Make Me A Petitchien owned by Alex Forth. RBCC Ch Lafford Kandy Floss (subject to kc approval) owned by Sue Victor handled by Carol Lee Slater. Best Puppy Afterglow Sunny Spell owned by Tom Isherwood and Jenny Scovell Best Veteran Jhanakia Highland Destiny owned by Sandra Austin and Jane Thompson.
