24 October 2014 – Dog World

South Wales Kennel Championship Show is the next event on the calendar to report. Exhibitors take to the roads for the twist and turns to Builth. A cold, wet grey day was ahead of us and a few shivery moments for everyone. The best thing about Builth are the toasties and if you haven’t tried them be sure to make them top of the ‘do’ list the next time you are there. All the trade stands are under cover at this show so the atmosphere has very much a market feel to the shopping experience. With the rain it was certainly the best option for all concerned.

Toy Specialist Mr Carl Sparrow was taking the helm at this show and arrived looking smart and ready for the day ahead. He went about the day in a kind and considerate manner giving everyone a chance to put best paws forward in a spacious ring. The principal winners were as follows; DCC/BOB Joe Magri and Kevin Arrowsmith’s Ch Rozamie Dream Lover who was shortlisted in the TGP under Des Jenkins. BCC John and Ann Cooper’s Ancojo Pixie Pickles, RDCC Irene and Glenn Robb’s Ch Gleniren Shootin’ Starmaker Sunshoo, RBCC Michele Buss’s Ch Twiggy Cupcake of Flutura JW. Best Breeder Jo Davidson-Poston and also BP with Tinklebury Super Sprout Spinillons.

The deadline for booking pages in the 2015 Papillon Club Handbook Handbook will soon be here (31 Oct 2014). Pages are available to all Papillon owners, members or not. Whatever it be your interest whether it be showing, agility, HT, obedience or as a beloved companion, as long as it involving a Papillon you are most welcome to participate. If those reading the notes could tell friends/other people with Papillons who might like to advertise the club would be grateful. All the details are on the Papillon (Butterfly Dog) Club website along with an order form to download (www.papillonclub.co.uk). The deadline for words and photos etc is 31st Dec 2014.

The Northern and Eastern Counties Papillon Club are holding two seminars within one day. At Finningley Village Hall, Rectory Road, Finningley, Doncaster, DN9 3DA on Feb 1st 2015 between 9.30pm and 4pm.

The morning session will be a stewarding seminar with the speaker being Christina Chapman (K.C Accredited Trainer.) This may be of interest to not only Papillon enthusiasts but also to other Toy breeds to learn about these conditions. Everyone welcome to come along to listen and learn.

The cost of the event is just £15 for either attending the morning or afternoon. The cost of lunch is included in this price. If you wished to attend both seminars then the cost for the complete day inc lunch is £25.
